Busking (buhsk-eeng) vb. to busk, s/he busks, adj. you busker; what a busk!

The noble art of providing some apparently-accurate, but possibly false information on a subject of which you may or may not be very well informed; but you are fairly certain the recipient is less-well-informed than you and therefore unlikely to challenge your authority.

This is not the same as lying, because the Busker is not necessarily aware of the truth, but rather more hopeful that the Buskee is more unaware of the truth than him/her. Buskers often busk themselves as much as the buskee, and may often believe they are telling the truth when they are actually lying. These people are also referred to as "Politicians".

Busking is more like embellishment or bullsh*tting, where the Busker may feel the need to gain admiration by demonstrating knowledge which s/he does, indeed, not possess. Or the Busker may wish to impart a tale of adventure wherein the grain of truth exists, but to which many events have been added that never occurred or which are much exaggerated. The absence of a witness to corroborate the events makes the likelihood of a busk that much greater.

It is even possible to experience a "Back-Busk". This is when two experienced Buskers are busking hard and a busk is answered by another busk. Upon realisation of such an occurance, it is both Buskers' duty to cease the conversation and buy each other a beer, as nobody likes to be caught busking. It displays a lack of skill and finesse.

Famous Buskers include Hunter S. Thompson, George W. Bush, Dr. Anthony Amm (who coined the term "Back-Busk) and Andrew Ingpen, a man who cannot not busk.

Busking also refers to the senseless practice of playing an instrument in a public place in the hope that somebody will be stupid enuf to give you some money. F*ck that for a bag of Oranges.
